Known
Issues and Fixes |
| Fixes
or work-arounds are available for each of
the following known issues listed below.
We would appreciate your help in
identifying any new problems that may
arise. Our developers happily accept
Bug Reports via email to
support@BookTrakker.com.
After a problem has been validated
(meaning that our developers have been
able to reproduce it), we will
provide a fix, or work-around, until
the problem can be fixed in an update
release. While we do not guarantee
an immediate fix for a validated problem,
our developers do their best to provide a
solution as soon as possible. |

Category Lists Not Set to Use Online |
If
you have Categories, either from Homebase, or because you created them
in BookTrakker, they are not set to list online automatically. You have
to edit each Category and check the Use Category List Online. You should
do this after each new creation of Categories, after doing data entry.
Make a note of the new Categories.
If you need a Global change made that sets all Categories to Use
Category List online to Yes then please contact Support. |

Amazon Upload |
If
you uncheck Amazon as a service to upload
to using BookTrakker's OneClick upload,
then recheck it, you cannot upload to
Amazon until you restart BookTrakker. As
long as Amazon remains checked during a
BookTrakker session, you can upload
repeatedly. Fixed in BookTrakker 3.3. |

Help Files |
The
latest additions to program Help Files
resulted in the occasional display of
unusual screen characters, such as
diacritical marks. Our developers
have identified the problem as residing in
the third-party help software that has
been in BookTrakker Pro since its first
release. After many years, the third-party
software firm is
no longer in business and our developers
are currently evaluating replacement
software for the help files.
Additional Help files are being provided
as temporary work-arounds during
development of new Help files. As always,
if you have any questions for which you
cannot find answers, email us at support@booktrakker.com

Error Reporting
Added |
Error
message reporting has been added to
BookTrakker Pro. *Please include
your email address with any messages you
send to us so that we can respond.
 |
You
may occasionally see a pop-up error
message along with a request to
email a copy of it to Support.
BookTrakker Pro has been through
Alpha and Beta testing and, while
you will not find any show stoppers,
you may occasionally uncover a small
problem that no one has experienced
before. We would appreciate
your help in making BookTrakker Pro
the tops in inventory management
software by sending us any error
message that may appear. |

*For NEW USERS ONLY
Deleting Sample Files
|
This
is for NEW USERS ONLY and does NOT APPLY to
current users who have their own data in
BookTrakker. NEW USERS who want to
delete the sample files but not import
records immediately, need to follow this
procedure.
BookTrakker
V3.1 will not run if your database is empty.
If you have deleted Sample Records and the
program is not running, you need to Replace Sample
Files with a small file containing one new
replacement record - see link and
instructions below. This extra step
will be eliminated in the next update
release.
Download
this short replacement file, which contains
a single inventory record, then use the
Restore icon to add this single editable
record to BookTrakker to get it running
again.
Instructions
Download
and Save File:
- Close
BookTrakker.
- Click
Download
replacement file (1.5MB)
- When
asked Would you like to open the file
or save it to your computer?, click Save.
Save file on your C drive in My
Download Files, or designate a
folder to save it in that you can
remember.
- NOTE:
If you use Netscape and cannot complete
download of the file, you may have to
open Internet Explorer instead. If
you get a message about passwords,
ignore it, none are required.
Install
the new file:
- Make
sure BookTrakker is closed before
proceeding.
- Locate
and DoubleClick BookTrakker's
Restore icon on your desktop.
When asked What to Restore, add a
check mark to Inventory; click
OK.
- Re-open
BookTrakker. Open the single
Inventory record, click Edit, then
replace information with your own.
Save record. BookTrakker will resume
running and you can start adding your
own records anytime.

Compact Database on Exit Fix
|
If
the option Compact
Database on Exit
is checked, the program will
not close. Until
this is fixed in a maintenance
release please do the
following:
 |
Open
BookTrakker v3.0 |
 |
Open
Tools > Options |
 |
If
the option Compact
Database on Exit is
checked, remove the
checkmark then close the
Options form. If it is
already unchecked, close the
form. |
 |
Close BookTrakker. |
 |
Next,
run the Backup program
on your desktop. The
Backup program will automatically
compact your database in
addition to creating a backup
file of all your records, and is
a procedure you should follow at
least once a week anyway for
proper maintenance. |

Changing a Record's Status
from "Sold" back to
"Available" |
When changing a Sold record
back to Available when you are
voiding an invoice (Ctrl-V) or
using the shortcut keys (A or
Ctrl-A) in Inventory
Detail, you may get the
following error message:

Click the "No"
button.
Next,
you will see:

Select
either "Yes" or
"No".
Notice
that while the record's Status
has been reset to
"Available" and List
Online has been updated, the
Quantity (Qty) field remains at
"0".
To correct this, click
Edit Record and
type the number 1 into
the Qty field; then click
