BookTrakker
Pro or Network is 100% Amazon
compatible. All current BookTrakker users who do anything with Amazon (as
well as OneClick ABE uploads after March 1, 2013) will have to
upgrade to BookTrakker by subscription. BookTrakker Basic can process uploads to
Amazon but it cannot use Amazon data, instead it uses data from ISBNdb.com. BookTrakker Collector and Advanced Collector
also do not work with
Amazon data and require users to register with ISBNdb.com to access ISBN
data.
Anyone not currently using an older version
who wants to use BookTrakker
will be required to subscribe to it. (Older versions of BookTrakker cannot
use Amazon data or upload to Amazon, nor can they upload to ABE,
Chrislands or Fillz). We are including both versions of CheckIt as part of the BookTrakker Pro and
Network subscription,
as well as GrabIt/Amazon ASIN/ISBN lookup and the BarnesandNoble.com
upload plugin. Basic users will not get the BN Uploader/CheckIt/ GrabIt or
Amazon ISBN/ASIN lookup. ISBN lookup for Basic users will be via ISBNDB.com.
Any
3.5 or earlier user who needs support from any source other than the user
groups or other users will be required to upgrade to BookTrakker by
subscription by to receive support from us or purchase support here,
either over time or per incident .
If you purchased BookTrakker 3.5 less than 18 months ago you will not be
charged any subscription fee for the main installation of BookTrakker by
subscription until you have owned BookTrakker for at least 18 months. This means current users of
BookTrakker will not have to pay subscription fees until their ownership
has aged beyond 18 months.

Why are we doing this?
We have observed that the SAS
(Software as a Service) model provides a means to stabilize the revenue
stream at a sustainable level while offering a good value to the
customers. Our pricing is based on numbers that will be roughly
comparable in cost to the price of the software as it stands over a 20 month
period..
We also must make this change to sustain future development of the
products. We envision having enough products to provide value to
subscribers with different needs ranging from $5/mo on up depending upon
what they subscribe to. At all points we expect to provide
sufficient value to justify the monthly fee.
We are confident that most if not all customers will find a subscription
rate that provides them with the tools they need at a price they are
comfortable with. We hope you are one of them.
