AMZ
OLR Tab.
For updating the Amazon Open
Listings Report data in BookTrakker.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The
Amazon OLR tab is designed to
clean up data imported from the
Amazon Open Listing Report (OLR). It
can also be used to clean up older
data where the user did not populate
all the fields and would like to do
so now, to the extent that Amazon.com
has the available data. If you are
using it for older data that has the
Cover field already then you will
need to create a Cover specific Hit
List for each Cover selection
on the BookTrakker tab in
GrabIt!.
You can also download Image URL's from Amazon when they are
available, either during the initial OLR update or later. Download
Image URL is for when you have imported your listings from Amazon
and need to update the data. Checking Download Image URL will get
image URL's from Amazon when they are available.
Download Image URL ONLY is for current users who want to get
whatever images may be available for current records in
BookTrakker. To avoid overwriting existing Image URL's in
BookTrakker you will want to do a Named Hit List to exclude them:

Note that Not is checked for the http search in ImgURL. Use this
Hit List on the Amazon OLR tab with Download Image URL ONLY checked
to download image URL's from Amazon.
For
new users who get their data from the
Amazon Open Listing Report:
After
you import the OLR and have restarted
BookTrakker, notice that Cover is
missing, Title/Subtitle is a mixture
of Author/Title and sometimes Cover.
Running this data against the Amazon
database using GrabIt!’s Amazon
OLR function will clean this up,
as well as add in extra data, such as
Publisher, Date and/or Pages, if
available. Doing this process will
not affect data in the Item-Note
field or your Amazon Condition. This
operation only works with Marketplace
data, zShops listings cannot be
updated. If there is no ASIN in the
BookTrakker ISBN field, then the
record will not be processed.
Because of
glitches in the Amazon OLR function you may have to run the
process twice, to get all possible records cleaned up, with
available author information.
Start
out by opening BookTrakker. Click on
the Hit Lists tab, left side. Click
the New button, fill in a Name (000),
then click OK. Click into the field
under Search Field, select Status.
Your Hit List should look like this:
|
|
|
|
|
|
Click
the Execute button next to the New
button to run the Hit List. Confirm
that the record count is as you
expect, it will display at the bottom
of the List View. If the count is
correct, click the red
Hit List button at the top of
BookTrakker.

Open
GrabIt!. Before running the Amazon
OLR update, you need to click on
the Settings tab and type in your
Amazon email address in the Amazon
Email field at the bottom. If you are
an Amazon.co.uk user then you also
need to check the "Use Amazon
UK" checkbox so you are updating
against the correct database.
For the Amazon OLR
update, we have set a default Template
that sets all of the criteria for
updating Amazon Open Listing Report
records after they have been imported
into BookTrakker. Click the Amazon
OLR tab, then select the Amazon
