CheckIt Quick Use Guide
CheckIt can be found by clicking
Online in BookTrakker, then clicking the dropdown button to the right of
Apps.
To use CheckIt immediately to download ASIN's and
ISBN's into BookTrakker; then check for records on Amazon but Sold,
Removed or otherwise not Available in BookTrakker and/or to find and upload
records in BookTrakker but not on Amazon do the following:
Make sure you have uploaded to all servicesall previous changes to
records in BookTrakker, be they New records, Sold records or Edits, to
all services before using CheckIt.
CAVEAT: If you have books
Sold or Pending on Amazon you need to make sure they are Sold or On Hold
in BookTrakker before using CheckIt to update your database. Listings
Sold or Pending on Amazon but not marked as such in BookTrakker may be
relisted as For Sale on Amazon or even removed altogether.
Download ASIN's and ISBN's into
BookTrakker.
1. Click the Online button at the top of BookTrakker.
Click the dropdown button for Apps, select CheckIt. When it opens,
select the Amazon service at the top. (If you only have one it defaults
to that service.)
At present, because of file
format changes made by Amazon, data is not available for CheckIt from
Amazon.ca (Amazon Canada) We will notify users when this issue is fixed.
2. Click Request Report, wait for Notification email from Amazon, or wait
15 minutes, then click Download Report. Wait for it to process. If the
report is not ready then you will get a failure message, try again
shortly.
3. Make sure ISBNs is checked under Option. If you want to
preserve the ISBNs or ASINs in the record then click the check box for
Copy to Field, and select one of the fields.
4. Click the "Update ASINs" button. Click OK to the two
messages.
5. CheckIt has replaced the ASIN or ISBN in BookTrakker
with what Amazon has for that record. If there was no ASIN or ISBN in
the record there is one now.
6. Close CheckIt.
7. Upload the changes to Amazon. select Amazon in the list of
services so the > points to
Amazon, click the middle upload button: Process/Upload to Selected
Service. Wait for all files to process on Amazon. (second
button in CheckIt, upper right will take you to that page)
To find records on Amazon that
are Sold, Removed or not otherwise Available in BookTrakker or to find
records that should be on Amazon but aren't:
1. Click the Online button at the top of BookTrakker.
Click the dropdown button for Apps, select CheckIt. When it opens,
select the Amazon service at the top. (If you only have one it defaults
to that service.)
2.
Click Request Report, wait for Notification email from Amazon, or wait
15 minutes, then click Download Report. Wait for it to process. If the
report is not ready then you will get a failure message, try again
shortly.
3. Click the "Show Recs" button to find records on Amazon that are not Available in
BookTrakker.
4. Should get a list of records. Click Set records for BT upload at the
bottom. Close window. (You can also Print this if you want)
5. Click the Check ASINs button at the bottom. Window displays records in BookTrakker,
but not on Amazon. Click Set records for Upload. (You can print this
list as well)
6. Close CheckIt.
7. Upload the changes to Amazon. Close CheckIt, select
Amazon in the list of services so the >
points to Amazon, click the middle upload button: Process/Upload to
Selected Service. Wait for all files to process on Amazon. (second
button in CheckIt, upper right will take you to that page)
Repeat as necessary to fix listings on Amazon. Once a month should do
but you can do it more often is you are an active seller.
