TROUBLESHOOTING FOR WINDOWS Vista or Windows 7. Windows 8 after Windows 7. 
   
Error Message:
"Run Time Error 339"  Component CIFTP.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered; 
a file is missing or invalid.

OR:

"Run Time Error 339"  Component SKCL.dll or one of its dependencies not correctly registered; 
a file is missing or invalid.

OR:

"Run Time Error 339"  Component ssdw3b32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered; 
a file is missing or invalid. (Or anything similar to a filename such as ssdw3b32.ocx)

 

To Fix in Windows 7 or 10

Method 1. Right click on the BookTrakker startup icon and select "Run as administrator" BookTrakker should 
open and run. If it doesn't continue to run in the future then try:

Method 2: Right click on the BookTrakker startup icon on your desktop, select Properties. Scroll down to the 
bottom to where you see "Privilege Level" and a check box for "Run this program as an administrator." 
Check the box. Click Apply. Close the form and run BookTrakker.

Method 3: Right click on the BookTrakker startup icon on your desktop, select Properties. Click the 
Compatibility tab. Check the check box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select 
Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

 If it doesn't open without the errors then do the following:

Method 4:
Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security.  At the top, in Action Center, click Change User
Account Control Settings
.

Slide the control down to the bottom, for Never Notify.

Restart Windows.

To Fix in Windows 8:


1. Click Start > Control Panel

2. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".

3. Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.

4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.

5. Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.

6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure"
click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the OK button.

7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.

You may need to reinstall BookTrakker.

If this does not fix the SKCL.dll error then the problem is with your anti-virus or spyware program. One or both may see the dll as a virus or malware and remove it. The SKCL.dll is the registration control in BookTrakker.
